1. What is a Cancer Care Navigator?
A Cancer Care Navigator is a female immigrant who has completed the training program provided by the Chungnam Regional Cancer Center at Dankook University Hospital.
Cancer Care Navigators serve as health partners who help immigrants with the same language and cultural background better understand cancer prevention information and access the medical services they need.
◈ What is the Cancer Care Navigator Training Program for Immigrants?
This training program is designed to prepare immigrants to serve as Cancer Care Navigators in their local communities.
Participants learn about cancer prevention, the National Cancer Screening Program, the Korean healthcare system, hospital procedures, counseling, and communication. The program is taught directly by healthcare professionals from the Chungnam Regional Cancer Center and experts in relevant fields.
Participants who complete the beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses are qualified to serve as Cancer Care Navigators.

Cancer Care Navigators carry out a variety of activities to reduce language and cultural barriers.
🌐 Develop Multilingual Cancer Prevention Content
They plan, translate, and create cancer prevention materials tailored to the needs of different audiences.
🏥 Provide Medical Interpretation for Foreign Cancer Patients
They facilitate effective communication between healthcare professionals and patients.
🎗️ Conduct Cancer Prevention Campaigns
They promote cancer prevention through community campaigns and interactive information booths.
📚 Support Cancer Prevention Education
They collaborate with public health centers and local organizations to provide health education.
👷 Provide Outreach for Foreign Workers
They visit industrial complexes and workplaces to provide cancer prevention education and information.
